Organ Recital
Lunchtime recital at Greyfriars, Paul Stubbings (seen to the right of the stained glass window, taking his bow) played pieces inspired by the work of Giacomo Meyerbeer.
Firstly, his own arrangement of Henry Cramer's piano transcription, entitled Mélange sur 'Le Prophèté, which was great fun and jolly, followed by Liszt's Fantasie und Fuge über den Choral Ad nos ad salutarem undam, technically complex but during which I found myself counting the organ pipes (76, but couldn't quite see all the trompette en chamade - about 100 - which entailed several recounts...). However, it was a most impressive and enjoyable hour.
