First Eastern Signs in Oedelsheim

This day started in frosty sunshine. On my early walking round I saw some fragile white pear blossom. There will be this wonderful outburst in blossoming during the weeks to come. And new bird songs are announcing the coming nesting activities. Yet we still have to wait. The cold and grey wintertime regime is far from over.

We felt that on our next tour down Southeast to Gieselwerder. The sun had long vanished. An icy Northwestern blew through the Weser-valley. Climbung up and walking over the high forest trail we were protected. But again we lost our way. Only a bit. Foresters may change reality and your map is outdated. But we can very well find our way and keep the safe orientation. So we did arrive in Oedelsheim. A nice Middel Age rivervillage. Now deserted, cold, windy. Taverns closed. Ferry out of service. Soon we left our chilly riverbank seat after a bite of sandwich.

On our way back along the riverside we were exposed fullblown to the icy Northwestern. A kind of exercise: breathing in, breathing out the Polar stream. Chivering we reached back our car and drove home to dress up warm and dry. Hot tea and some rest made us recover from this Polar expedition. What a marvellous time!
