Pantano De Elche

i.e. Elche Dam. The area is called Pantano De Elche which is a marsh. Like so many places this too has many names it seems. :-)

What a place. Almost desert. Nothing nearby. You would not see this by accident. You really need to where to go to see this place. Definitely worth a visit.

In the extras you can see the birds over the dam. They might be Fulica cristata, red-knobbed coot or crested coot according to wikipedia. I was looking at the picture of yesterday of a bird guide of the area and then did a bit of googling. These have the white area in the beak, so I might be on to something. At some point I need to get my hands on a bird book of the area.
