Sunshine and Showers, Collieston Harbour

Photography, spent time playing with the new toy.
coffee and newspaper,
Drive up the coast to Newburgh and Collieston,
photography, drive back
ten minutes shopping , pick up daughter and home for tea.
Perfect Sunday!

Sun! Torrential rain and thunderstorms.
Amazing light, really dramatic all day.
New camera really good, can tell it's going to be fun.
Photographed with Nikon as well.
Shouldn't compare because its unfair.
Focus good, colour balance is not as good and detail is not as crisp.
But if you didn't have a benchmark you would be satisfied
Not bad for £125 but I wouldn't have paid £250 list price.
Anyway, needless to say this is a Nikon shot.
But Samsung will debut soon.....

Collieston flourished as a fishing village in the 1600s and 1700s and the village made its name as the origin of Collieston Speldings. These were salted and sun-dried haddock and whiting, and they proved a popular delicacy as far afield as Edinburgh and London. The whole village was involved in fishing.
In 1791 it was recorded that school attendance dropped by half during summer when children collected mussels and dug bait for the line fishing that underpinned Collieston's economy.

Collieston marks a very sharp change in the landscape. Its cliffs and rocky bays extend to the north, while to the south is the huge sand dune system of the Forvie National Nature Reserve. This stretches for three miles along the shore to the mouth of the River Ythan near Newburgh. South of this Donald Trump has been busy building "the best golf course in the world"

Decided to crop, much better, looks good large.
