Edward 1 Bath House

Today I went down a ladder (gulp, I hate ladders!) into the Bath House of previous blips. It was amazing. I can't actually put into words how strange and wonderful it was to stand where a medieval King, and not just any King, but the great Hammer of the Scots bathed! There are still a lot of questions but the main chamber was very clear with wonderful medieval stone and slots where the portcullis and sluice gates were situated. the photo I chose is the one looking out of the main chamber which I have often shot from across the moat. The dam of course is keeping the moat out and only last year I went in here by punt.
