Happy St. Patrick's Day
"Her eyes they shone like diamonds...." see the extras for a close up.
Today is our first Garden Club meeting of the 2016 season. We're having a speaker doing a program on terrariums. We were also asked to bring a nautical arrangement for the Artistic Exhibit and a forced branch( garden talk for making it bloom early in the house) for the Horticultural Exhibit portion of our meeting before the speaker. My magnolia branch blossoms didn't open yet, so that's not going, but I did do a nautical arrangement, pictured in the extras as well. The waves are represented by lavender and umbrella pine, the small wax flowers represent the white sea spray and foam. I thought a ship in a bottle was fitting with the terrarium theme. These exhibits are always optional, but I love doing them and seeing the clever ideas folks come up with for the Artistic portion of the meeting.
The third extra is one of the completed open terrariums the speaker made, I won it in the raffle at the end of the program!
For the Record,
This day came in sunny with clouds and warm temps.
All hands healing.
