A recipe for disaster?

It's soup and salad club at work tomorrow. It's my first time and as the new member I don't want to get it wrong.

Do I chose a tried and tested salad that I know will be popular? Or do I chose a little known Bulgarian salad that I picked at random out of the book?

I'll go for option number two and live dangerously.
