Auction day
Today I went to the auction relating to the valuation day I blipped here https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2149312887053616947 It was a great day out. The bowl sold for £420 which was about mid estimate.
But the most exciting items were some paperweights (you can just see them in the hands of the lady in the extra photo). The talk around the valuation room was that her father had found them in a skip 50 years ago. They were estimated at about £200-400 each. 2 sold for £900 each and the 3rd went for £3500. I should think she's one happy lady!
We found this marble clock in a skip but sadly it wasn't all there. There were no working bits and the top was missing. I think it still makes an attractive ornament though.
