In these parts at this time of year a sunny day is inevitably followed by a haar rolling in from the North Sea and sitting on top of us smirring away to itself for the day whilst the rest of the country enjoys sunshine.

Nothing for it but to get in the garden and burn some furniture to help brighten things up a bit.
