anticipation

so, i was messaging my friend last night and some irregular pains she mentioned made me wonder whether her baby might be putting in an early appearance. i went to bed around midnight and dreamt baby girl was here (ok, she so looked like a mouse with freckles - a really cute one - but lets gloss over that part!).. then my phone went at 3.30am...more progress..... like a shot i was awake - too exciting!  so between message checking and callie feeds, listening to bird song and having flashbacks to my most recent homebirth and all the similarities.... i didn't get much sleep :D

i lit my candle to wish them well on the journey earthside...then the happy news arrived when i got home from the school run. baby girl here safe and well and looking just like her littlest big brother. so happy! we shared due dates, a year apart and our baby girls share the same birth weight :) it was always unlikely they'd end up sharing actual birthdays.

this time last year, toni was adorning my bump with henna. this time last year i still had a month to go before i got to meet my baby girl :D my girlfriends all had to sport that red wool on their wrists for 5 long weeks in solidarity.

the children had their school disco this evening. only 45 minutes after school, but they got dressed up and had a dance and played some games. lily had a great time, dylan sulked because he didn't win any prizes! he sure has his dad's competitive streak ;)

happy valley finale tonight then i am off to bed for an 'early' night.
