It is carnival time in Staveley - a biannual event organised by friends that brings the whole community together. How they managed to get a sunny Sunday is a complete miracle as every Sunday for many, many months has not been even close to that. But they did. And so the parade went ahead and the samba band played and the children bounced and face painted and were frightened by this mask, the adults caught up with friends and had a drink or two and basically for one sunny, Sunday afternoon in a small village's field all felt right and good in this world!
