Any ideas?

I think we found this small metal container a number of years ago. It's about an inch high and the top which has a hollow tube attached comes off. It could be a match vesta box but we're not sure, any ideas?

Mrs Wackywebs Freelander went wrong last night so we got a man who can to look 1st thing, he said dodgy power steering motor so given warranty only just expired a call to dealer was required. Awaiting to see what their "offer" will be now!!
