Tattie Bogle
A tatie Bogle, sometimes called a Scarecrow. I quote from the free dictionary;
1. A crude image or effigy of a person set up in a field to scare birds away from growing crops.
2. Something frightening but not dangerous.
3. A gaunt or haggard person.
In Minginish on the Isle of Skye there was a festival of Tattie Bogles in 2011. It was such a success that it has been repeated this summer. This fellow was photographed near to the beginning of the Carbost road. If you didn't see his face you might believe he was a real fireman.
