This parking lot pole light is a perfect example of the community following the law...the "dark skies" law which we have in southern Arizona.

There are world-class observatories in the area.  It was a perfect place for them to be built because our clear desert (nearly always) cloudless nights give scientists practically perfect conditions for exploring the universe.

A a result of this important work, there is a law that specifies that all light must be pointed downward.  Even billboards with lights on them are banned.

Grateful again to a friend for the ride.  It's pretty depressing being home. I'm working hard on it with the home physical therapist but I still can't walk more than a few feet.
