Evening approaches
The lovely spring-like day brought us out to the garden today. Helena had a busy day tidying the cabin amongst many other chores which have made a great difference. I ended up at last with my gardening hat on and tidied plants, with a lot of pruning and removal of thorns and straggling unwanted branches of sycamores and old man's beard.
When I returned to my desk upstairs I looked back out over the garden and realised the light from the low setting sun was about to disappear below the horizon. A timely view of the late wintery scene seemed appropriate. Once the leaves reappear we lose some of our view behind the trees at the end of the garden straight across the valley towards The Heavens. This will remind me of the landscape which will reappear when autumn is over. I quite like the bonus that we thus get late in the year when the views return, a small compensation for the winter ahead.
