First cross country flight of the year for me, not far, but well eeked.

Cloudbase only 2000' amsl giving around 1800' above the field with most of the flight around 1000' to 1200' agl. A lot more NE and the limited lift of the clouds were taking me straight to Wattisham. Tried to cross wind rather than thread needle and head into deepest darkest Essex under the clouds but not to be.

Glider is flying great and courtesy of Telegram my retrieve turned up as soon as I had packed up and carried to edge of field! Met by local pg pilot, would be great for him if switched to hg.

Slowly catchee monkey sort of flight, fun if very hazy. Best result today though, V escaping the field on first tow :-)
