Pooh sticks
I finally finished reading The Cider House Rules this morning. The book is still on my bedside table, I don't want to put it away yet, it's a story that will stay with me, Homer will always be there. Not many books do that do they?
The weather has been lovely so I thought we could spend it in the park, F had a couple of hours free before heading out for dinner in Manchester. So the five of us headed out on foot. I love times like this. Mia and I hang back and chat as F and his two bounce along ahead.
The kids always get on so well, Mia enjoyed showing them the new play area and they all, despite ranging from around 5'6" to 6' in height happily player amongst the younger children. We had a quick mooch around the hall, then, after discovering a rather large queue in cafe, head back into town via the woodland path.
Abi spotted the bridge and soon had everyone participating in a game of pooh sticks. I think she may have won.
We are very lucky to have such lovely kids. I think they may think I am a tad detached at times, but I just like watching them, they are changing so much but still remain so very thoughtful. And playful.
After they left, I headed back to bed to read. This weekend i think it's fair to say I mainly remained horizontal.
