Run Silent, Run Deep

My brother drove Mum and I to the Submarine Museum at Gosport this afternoon. A fascinating place. Really exciting to be able to go aboard H.M.S. Alliance and H.M.S. Holland 1. Just imagine, 65 men living aboard the Alliance for two months or more, many with just one change of clothes, two wash basins to share among them and one tiny galley. It doesn't bear thinking about, does it?

I loved climbing inside the tiny bathescope which you can see in the extras. This thing can go down to 1,500 feet. No thank you.
