Day at the Races
Today we drove 2hrs to see local racing. A very casual day and the event was called Picnic at the races. Everyone takes a picnic, pitches a spot, sits back, bets, and relaxes. Absolutely fabulous and all for $20.
We decided to leave early afternoon as I was getting backache from sitting on the floor and together with my desire to move to go see more. I am pleased we did as we ended up at a beach that was empty of people. We walked and walked. We even had our own air show. We later learnt that there was an airshow taking place and that explains all the aircraft coming over, absolutely brilliant, we had the best spot and it was free. I love being by the sea.
Tomorrow is a bank holiday here and seeing as it is still Sunday in the UK, we are going to make the most of it and head to the city for an event. We both have some work to do in the morning but after 11am the day will be ours until 6pm when we have a con call back to the UK.
Tuesday is my birthday and Wednesday our 14th Wedding Anniversary, so we have lots to fit in and celebrate.
