Surrogate Shots*

I sent my surrogate, out into the rain to walk around Spring Lake, and chose, with her permission,  a couple from the many splendid shots she took with her iPhone. Of course the Red Tailed Hawk won the lottery hands down. She said her shoes were soaked getting the picture (without a zoom) but "it was worth it". I would say so…

The extra is the fishing pier, usually about four feet above the surface of the lake in the summer. More pictures showed trails next to the lake serving as creek beds and trees growing out of the water many yards away from the water's edge.

Confined to quarters as much by the rain as by my health, OilMan and I kept ourselves occupied with a 1,500 piece puzzle (OilMan), knitting and books (me). I picked up a book called A Man Called Ove  by  Frederik Backman at the bookstore because the staff raved about it, and with good reason. It is delightful, funny and, as it says on the cover, "you'll feel new sympathy for the curmudgeons in your life."  We alternated watching golf and basketball (OilMan) and House renovation shows (me).

It won't be like sitting at the cozy bar at Rosso chatting with Stephanie the bartender, but OilMan is going to drive across town to pick up a couple of their delicious pizzas for dinner. That could work…

*With thanks to Dana for taking such nice shots and especially for being my "guest Blipper" today.
