Concentration
Last night's concert was very good - such a high standard it was quite incredible. Thomas says they have never practiced so much for a concert before, I believe that Shostakovich's 5th Symphony is quite a demanding symphony to play. The choir's performance of Faure's Requiem was beautiful - they had also hired a professional soprano and baritone who were needed for some of the parts. It is a pity that Gavin missed it.
Gavin arrived back from Boston this morning, and after doing some things in the village we headed off to watch Thomas last hockey match of the season. Sadly they lost 2-1. I was very pleased with my 300mm lens which I used today, it was rather fast and froze the action shots rather well I thought.
More sport tomorrow - this time it is Gavin who is running the Surrey Half Marathon as a warm up for the London Marathon which he will be running next month. He ran 21km (half a marathon) last Sunday as part of his training so it is no big deal for him!
