Isola San Giulio

An island in Lake Orta, Novara, Italy of length 275 metres and width 149 metres. There is a basilica and a Benedictine monastery. This view is taken from Sacro Monte, the meeting place between Friedrich Nietzsche and Lou Salomè here. Lou wrote of her experience, "whether I kissed Nietzsche on Monte Sacre, I do not know now."
