Our Boating Journey Begins

Since we made up our minds to buy a canal boat, we decided to start investigating to see what we're letting ourselves in for.

We opened a special savings account for the deposit earlier this week. We've subscribed to a canal boating magazine. Now we're visiting the countries marinas.

Today we're at Trinity Marina in Leicestershire which has the advantage of being a short train ride away from Welford Road, and it has a Premier Inn so that family and friends will have somewhere to stay when they visit us. The overflow from the boat, I mean.

Ricky and Jack seem to be keen although not impressed when we told them we fancy spending this Christmas on a narrowboat!
