Tourists

In lieu of a typical shot of the Duomo, the Uffizi or that reet old bridge - this, to me, pretty much sums up Florence. You can't blame them really, the historical importance of the magnificently carved city is universally acknowledged and celebrated.

It is a shame, however, that the side effect of being a beautiful city is total congestion. Huge tour groups - name tag wearing zombies called 'Pam' and 'Roger'- follow stick wavers around the historical town. They take pictures en masse of exactly the same thing and call for each other with obnoxious whiny voices. Behind us in the queue for the Uffizi, idiots whined incessantly in nasal voices the wait being ridiculous and "I've been here for 25 minutes". You couldn't take a break and admire a building for two seconds without having your toes trod on by some sweaty oaf. Neither could you walk peacefully across a bridge without being cut-off by an annoying squabbling family.

People are such idiots (I'm so perfect obviously).
