Lime Kiln on Barton

After work I popped up Barton and Heughscar and inspired by paulaj's blip thought I'd continue the unofficial unholy lime kiln week with a blip of a lime kiln. I've noticed before that it looks as though someone has made some effort to partially restore this one and I was remembering how G said that when he was a boy, the fields were white like snow, after lime had been spread over the fields in Grasmere. I was recalling too how he taught me to remember the words of WB Yeat's poem The Song of Wandering Aengus by singing it to this tune (I'm usually rubbish at remembering lines of poetry ... and you certainly don't want to hear me 'singing').

The conditions were very 'flat' with poor visibility by this time of the day, after what had been a lovely sunny start.

Checked out the new bridge at Pooley and it looks very close to completion - the grand opening is due on 20th March.
