The Celebration Blipmeets

Hi everyone. We'd like to tell you all a bit more about the community celebration week that we mentioned a couple of posts ago. This week is to celebrate the ownership of the Blipfoto site by the community, doing what blippers do so brilliantly: by blipmeeting! Between 19th and 28th of March, we'd like you to think about arranging a blipmeet, or attending one near you. Meet other blippers, have some fun, and celebrate!

How can I take part?

1) Take a look in the forum to see whether there is a blipmeet arranged near you that you'd like to join. If not, think about arranging one yourself, and put the details into the forum.

2) If you're joining a blipmeet, let the organiser know you're keen by posting onto the forum entry. The more the merrier!

3) Have a great time meeting fellow blippers at the meet, and take pictures, of course!

4) Tag any blips of the blipmeet days with BigBlipmeet, so people can search for the tag and read all about them (using #bigblipmeet in the search bar). We'll keep an eye out for these blips in Blip Central, and may well ask some to share their stories in future Blip Central posts.

If you find there aren't any blippers near you to meet with, how about meeting with a friend locally and encouraging them to start blipping...?!

To get you started...

To get you started, the four Blipfuture directors will be attending blipmeets as follows:

Bob (Earthdreamer): Ilkley, Sunday 20th March, 2pm (to be added to the forum shortly).
Meet at Ilkley at Cafe Nero on Brook Street (2 mins from station) at 2pm. Be prepared for walking on the moor should the weather be fine, a walk along the river and into the woods should the weather be indifferent (could be muddy), or a tour of local cafes and hostelries should the weather be terrible! We'll let the gathering evolve and it might well wind up at a pub somewhere.

Ian (Cyclops): Edinburgh, Sunday 20th March (Forum Post).
Meet at the Summerhall Cafe to chat to other blippers over a cuppa or two (http://www.summerhall.co.uk/summerhall-cafe/).

Graham (GrahamColling): The Photography Show, Birmingham, Sunday 20th March, 1pm (forum post).
Graham will be joining the blipmeet organised by MatthewHicks at The Photography Show at the NEC in Birmingham. The group are meeting between the Adobe Theatre and Food Galleries at 1pm.

Annie (AnnieAndChris): London, Monday 28th March, 3pm (to be added to the forum shortly).
Meet at More London (http://www.morelondon.com/) at 3pm, beside the river in front of the Mayor's building. We'll wander along the riverbank photographing back towards Blackfriars, and end up in a pub when we decide we're tired / cold / just need a pint. If it's really horrible weather to begin with we'll dive into a local pub at the start and chat!

We're looking forward to seeing the blips!
