Slow Worm

I tried to ignore the miserable, cold weather and headed over to Sandham Memorial Chapel to view the Stanley Spencer paintings depicting the life of the soldier in WW1. Despite their theme, they are rather uplifting, especially the main painting "The Resurrection" which depicts the soldiers rising up out of their graves, shaking hands with each other and returning their crosses to Christ.

Photography is not allowed in the chapel, but while taking some quick snaps of the spring flowers around the building I spotted this little guy living up to its name and slithering slowly through the undergrowth.
