Jubilee Class Locomotive 45562 Alberta
Today's the day ............................. for a model world
I had the privilege today of being shown this exquisite model railway locomotive - Jubilee Class No 45562 Alberta. The London Midland and Scottish Railway Jubilee Class was a class of steam locomotive designed for main line passenger work. Some 191 of them were built between 1934 and 1936. No 45562 was the last of the class to be withdrawn - in autumn 1967 - after working for about 32 years.
This model is destined to run on Phil's circuit - and it is very important that it is perfect in every detail. So he had sent it away to be 'distressed' ie. made not so shiny as it started off - because that's how the real one would have been. And he also got them to add that diagonal yellow stripe through the number through the cab side engine number which meant that the engine was banned from working south of Crewe.
It's all got to be right, you see - because the real experts would expect that ...............................
PS - Look where I was this time last year!
