"Dark satanic mills"

going through some old slides i came across this one of Halifax in the sixties i believe.
Salt and pepper the cooling tower were demolished in 1974 so it is definitely prior to that .
How dark and grimey does the town look ?
Lots of old woolen mills are still there and the old coal yards of halifax station.
The town hall looks like it is made from black granite and i can just see that crossleys carpets is still going which is now the dean clough complex.
The clean air act definitely was worth it back then.
