Oak Cottage

Faced with a day at the computer editing a newsletter I looked for a reason to go for a walk.  A geocache in the nearby village of Leigh found me wandering around this delightful village with a lot of very old listed buildings. The village green /school football field was a quagmire;  I had to retreat round the road to examine this quaint cottage on the far side of The Green. Its origins are unclear, certainly there has been a building on the site since 15C and some bits of this building are likely to be that old.  Coins from the 1700s were found in the wall when an extension was added in the 1960s. The oak tree in front seems pretty old.
