Mud!
Today was the big event of the village calendar - the Tendring Hundred show. A yearly treat of tractors, sheep, cows, fluffy bugs, and more stickers than you know what to do with. Oh and there is some farming stuff too!! This year was a bit different though, it all took place in a muddy lake!! Very heavy rain last night, meant that the showground had turned from grassy fields to mud bath. But we are British and we aren't going to let a bit of mud get in our way!!! On with the wellies and the waterproofs and off we went. Master Pink particularly embraced the mud, several times in fact. At one point he said "look Mummy, I'm a pig wallowing in the mud". Good.
I did my stint on the church stand this afternoon, and the cow masks seemed to go down ok. And the kiddies had made some brilliant farms throughout the day with the playdough I had made. After I had waded through the mud to the exit, and passed the tractor having to tow the cars out of the mud on the car park, I met up with rest of the pinks, and we went off to wash the mud off for a swim.
This evening I have been sewing. But I have run out of green thread, so it's on hold until Monday. Bother.
