New Old Water Coarse.

Travelling in to Beverley across the "Westwood", came across this old water coarse usually not visible but has risen to the surface as the land here about is so sodden,  forms a small stream which flows down by the Minister through Keld Gate, aptly named to join up with Beverley beck or there about's. the orgins of the name
Beverly or Beverley was at one time commonly a masculine given name but is now almost exclusively a feminine name. It is derived from an English surname, which was in turn taken from the place name, Beverley. The placename derives from Old English, combining the words befer "beaver" and leah "clearing".
I guess the water is not so uncommon as beaver was hunted in these parts many moons ago.
The beck flows into the river hull but although full can take alittle more but not sure sure of the surrrounding flood plain which has many large areas under water.
Maybe march will come in like a lion and go out like a lamb.....
