Speaker Key

HAPPY little Katie today - last night in her lesson, B taught Katie about the speaker key and the upper register. Today Katie managed to do it "I DID IT, MAMA!!! LISTEN!!! I DID IT AGAIN!" Not consistently, but a massive step forward!  She's very proud of her wee customised clarinet now. Her and B did some more work on it last night - they added a lip cushion to the mouthpiece in preparation for when she loses her other top tooth. They made a custom "thumb cushion" for her back thumb, from a sweet little pink rubber! 

She's very excited - tonight she starts Grade 7 swimming, the final grade she will do. I promised her I would make her a new costume specially for it. She's requested ruffle bum and flutter sleeves. What she doesnt know is that I have an AMAZING panel of spandex with a ballerina bear on it that she's going to go totally nuts for!!! Now just to get it sewn before school run....
