Hummingbird

I had to blip it again for tiny Tuesday. My husband and I have been following the process for almost two weeks now, and reading all about these little birds. Their devotion and sense of purpose are admirable. We see her sitting here patiently for hours and hours. She leaves the nest to probably bring petals or something to eat. The nest is approximately the size of a ping pong ball. They can travel in between 500 and 600 miles straight! For this journey they have to double their size by eating lots of fat and protein. It they withstand the journey they might live up to six years. Nature is really something amazing.
I took this picture around 10 am this morning.
