Madrona

This weekend we went to the small village (150 people) of Llano Grande for hiking and enjoying the fresh mountain air! The weather was cloudy and cold, so hiking through the pine forests was a good way to warm up. (the excellent hot chocolate helped also)  I mostly took photos of flowers, lichen, and trees. This is the peeling bark of the madrona  tree.
