Rainy longtail tit

While the pizza was in the oven I nipped out to the cabin where the rain was starting to fall again. It was dark and gloomy but that wasn't affecting the birds who still wanted to feed. Several bullfinches, a woodpecker, nuthatch, blackcap and robin all called by, but not necessarily on this feeder.

Four longtail tits gently bustled around together in the cage, which is designed to keep squirrels out, taking it in turns to get a mouthful or three. The suet seems really popular with all the birds, even in the middle of summer (sic).

I thought I would try with some added flash, after reading some articles in the bath this morning. At least it caught the motion, although there is huge room for improvement. I want to set up the camera on the tripod much closer to where they feed and try it operating it remotely. One day I may even get a remote flash unit, so I shall have to tell Santa.
