Saffron centres

What a gorgeous sunny day!!

After our walk we got back home, and had a little visit from youngest and his wife, as they couldn't make it on Saturday as planned. We all had lunch together, just wholemeal muffins with ham or Turkey and salad.

Once they left, to go and visit DiLs grandad, in hospital, we got out in the garden for a couple of hours, for the first time properly this year :-)
Hub had to knock off after a couple of hours, as daughter needed picking up from the station, but I stayed outside and did some more cutting back. Our grasses needed cutting down, as the new growth is showing now.

Whilst tidying the borders I spotted these little crocuses, which I hadn't noticed, basking themselves in the afternoon sun, so I nippy indoors for my camera. I did t spot the little crawly hiding inside until I uploaded the image.

My back was aching a little after about 3 hours, so I didn't want to overdo it, so called it a day. Made a chicken and pancetta pasta bake for dinner......which I can smell as a type!
