Brearley after the calder river flood

The valley made the news after the devastating floods(a months rainfall in 24 hours) around Hebden Bridge,Mytholmroyd and other areas along the river..
This chap and I presumed his grand daughte, were shovelling the track back up the hill "Stops the water causing more damage,but the council won't help as they just take the debris away,thats no good is it? Next time it happens theres no track to stop the water from flowing into the houses,so we have to do it"..thankless task as two weeks later the valley was hit by a months rain in 3hrs,thats 21 hours less than this time! Wheres the summer?
