Red Roses
We had a bit of a shop this morning to get some provisions, including for the meal at Mum and Dad's , and took the opportunity for a bit of a walk along Stevenage High Street whilst we were there.
This shield is one of two on the entrance gates to my old school. It is a long long time since I was a schoolboy, but these gates haven't really changed, and physically it looks much as it did way back then. It was a grammar when I went there, became a comprehensive before I left, became co-ed after I left, was going to move to a new site until the money disappeared, and is now an Academy. School blazers and caps always sported roses, I wonder if if they still do ?
Extra - I took loads of photos around the Kings Cross area yesterday, a fascinating part of London undergoing huge change. Three of the gasometers which used to sit on the site of the Eurotunnel terminal, have been cleaned up in Shipley and are now moving back on site, one containing a pocket park, the other two enclosing apartment blocks. This is a view through one of them.
