Thirty three

Woke up and joined the family for coffee and Mother's Day / Birthday gifts. Lots of laughing and bum shaking (ok, that was mostly me).

SS and I got stuck into our Mother's Day feast preparation. I made pork belly with a crispy rosemary and lemon skin cooked on top of parsnips that were basically poached in white wine and garlic. Delicious.

Malesi cooked a lovely vanilla cake with a rum and chocolate sauce. Also delicious.

Thirty three is a good age, not quite mid-thirties and definitely not quite dead yet. I'm looking forward to a year of trying to be better at a lot of things: work, running, cooking and generally being a better friend and human being.

Thanks everyone who has wished me a Happy Birthday. You're all brilliant.
