St Mary's Monastery #2

Mrs P was at a summer school here, and I went to an end-of-the-week lunch.

It's a complex building, and I was struck once again how there was money then (1869) for an elaborate structure. Our buildings now are much more utilitarian. Is it just a cultural preference, or was so much money flooding in from the empire that there was nothing else to spend it on?

I've replaced the original colour version by a monochrome. That was my original intention, but using just Lightroom the sky took an unpleasant tint. I'm experimenting with Topaz Adjust, and that gave me another level of control.
