Winter Heliotrope

Petasites fragrans also known as butterbur. I wouldn't say that it's beautiful but rather unusual and is supposed to have a sweet fragrance. When in Japan a few years ago we saw its relative P. japonicus, a more attractive plant which the Japanese eat as a vegetable .
