Kayaking down the Buller

T and his friend went kayaking down the Buller River the afternoon. Farmerboy and I went to see them off - here they are just getting going.  I was amazed at how clear and inviting the water was.  They will be spending two hours on the water this afternoon - a great way to spend a Saturday.

It's been a warm but cloudy day.  I got up early to milk this morning, something I haven't done for a fortnight.  And in that fortnight, it is amazing how much longer it stays darker for.  There's no doubting that we have left summer behind and are now into autumn.
