The Log Basket

Lost quite a bit of today to 'Salem's Lot', I must admit, though thankfully I've nearly finished it. At least I got out later to meet Beck for a spot of tea and a play. It was one of those NT Live things, broadcast to cinemas; a new play called 'Hangmen' written by the guy who wrote and directed 'In Bruges' - a black comedy set in an Oldham pub owned by 'England's second best hangman' in the days immediately following the abolition of capital punishment, starring David Morrissey. Very entertaining it was too - and overall it provided a useful cultural balance to the day, I guess....
