One of the rarest beetles in Europe!
Agonum Ericeti (Carabidae) is a rare peatland specialist with very narrow habitat requirements, needing high quality wet sphagnum and other peatland vegetation. Because of the scarcity of this habitat, it is very scarce in a European context, but it's consequently an excellent indicator of high quality habitat conditions. This one was found in the Humberhead Wetlands, South East Yorkshire.
