Sapa

We arrived in Sapa early this morning at around 5.45am (after our not so brilliant nights sleep on the night train). We then travelled by bus up the windy roads to the top of the mountains. We started our trek to Cat Cat village where we enjoyed stunning views of rice terraces, plunging valleys, hill side villages and rolling mountains. However as we were so high up thick mist engulfed the landscape. It was fascinating to see how the indigenous people live.

In the evening we explored the quaint town and visited the gothic style Catholic Church. There is clearly a lot of French influence in Sapa. We are exhausted- walking up the mountains is the best workout we've had in ages!
