I often wonder at the British ability to complicate anything with red tape, our dedication to finding problems for every solution. Here one of the new Sydney trams trundles its way to Dulwich along a line that was laid and commissioned in the time it took Lothian Trams to appoint a contractor to build theirs. One day, it is said, that the trams in Edinburgh will provide a service that meets public demands.
