Yes, more trees.
Just a quick blip to check in with my Blip friends. Hope you're all doing well, and thank you so much for all the comments on this one last week.
I finally saw the Coen Brothers' film "Burn After Reading" this evening, followed by a special screening of "The Big Lebowski" - and the older film was much better. "Burn" was funny, but ultimately disappointing. I think it's because there was really no one in the film to care about - unlike the Coens' earlier films, where, amidst the violence, and cynicism, and people acting very badly toward one another, there was always at least one character the audience could care about. It's hard to become invested in the plot with no one to root for. "Lebowski" (and "Raising Arizona" and "O Brother") also had distinct, inventive visual styles, whereas "Burn" is, unfortunately, visually kind of flat. Maybe next time.
Backblip: Monster
I have more back blips, but they'll have to wait until my next internet access. Maybe I'll get a few up tomorrow, as I doubt I'll have much internet over the Thanksgiving holiday.
