Just plain wrong or funny, or both?

The Harold Holt Swim Centre is a local pool and exercise centre.  I personally find it a little disconcerting that they decided to name a swim centre after a guy who (apparently) drowned.  So who was this Holt guy? 

Harold Holt was an Australian politician and the 17th Prime Minister of Australia. Holt was Prime Minister for only 22 months before he disappeared in December 1967 while swimming at Cheviot Beach near Portsea, Victoria, and was presumed drowned.


But there are conspiracy theories (don't you just love them!).  One theory is that Holt was a Chinese spy and was picked up by a Chinese submarine.  To do a "Harold Holt" is to bolt (and disappear off the scene).
