St. Matthias, Thorpe

Matthias, so the story goes, was chosen by the apostles to replace Judas after he betrayed Jesus and, as such was the only disciple not chosen by the man himself.

The church is late Saxon with later embellishments, finally restored in the 18th century.

The church was saved form closure by community action in 2015.
